Disneyland Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

It’s like walking onto another planet…in a galaxy, far, far away.

If it weren’t exciting enough to be back in Disneyland again, we had the chance to experience one of its newest areas of the park- Galaxy’s Edge. It’s super spectacular and literally out of this world!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge encompasses 14 acres within the Disneyland Park. The impressive setting is a remake of the Black Spire Outpost village on the remote frontier planet of Batuu and features perfectly themed shops, restaurants, entertainment, and two main attractions. It’s awe-inspiring, to say the least.

Star Wars Rise of the Resistance is the top dog here. Ticketed-park visitors must download the Disneyland mobile app and log into a virtual queue. The queue is limited so in order to increase your chance of availability, several members of your party should be logged in. Lucky for us, our grandson was able to get our group of four in. The app then supplies a boarding group number which can be tracked throughout the day.

This super exciting new attraction gives riders the opportunity to join the Resistance in an epic battle against the First Order. Graphics are amazing, especially the scene where the ride enters a part of the ship protected by an army of stormtroopers. It feels real, and authentic to say the least. The ride is a must-do for Star Wars lovers!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is the second top attraction here. In this thrilling interactive ride, guests are selected as crew pilots, gunners, or navigators on the Millennium Falcon heading into hyperspace on a smuggling mission adventure.

Once again, the graphics are incredibly impressive, and the ride is so much fun, we all had to do it again!

While in Galaxy’s Edge, here are a few other memorable fun things we loved.

How about building your own personal droid? You can at Droid Depot. Reservations are necessary but the smile on your kiddo’s face says it all after his or her unique self-created droid comes off the assembly line! Even big kids get into this as well.

You’ll recognize Oga’s Cantina, the notorious watering hole themed straight from the Star Wars movie. It’s a depiction of Jabba’s Palace, the bar frequented by bounty hunters, smugglers, and other disreputable characters. Reservations are recommended (otherwise the stand-by line can be really long) as the bar is very popular.

Guests can request seated tables although most of the cantina is stand-up only which works just fine. Unique concoctions include those with and without alcohol with names like Jabba Juice, Jedi Mind Trick, and Takodana Quencher. You just have to try Oga’s. It’s incredible!

Can you handle drinking blue or green milk? If so, another totally fun experience is heading to the Milk Stand for a fruity concoction you won’t forget.

May the force be with you as you enjoy this added feature to Disneyland Park.
